The Mandolin Tool is a program that provides the novice mandolin player with a number of handy learning tools (in fact, the program comes with contents for four different instruments: guitar, mandolin, ukulele and S-String banjo). The main window offers six buttons, each of them has it own features.
The "Chord Charts" offers you to open and save chords and scales that you can load from your hard drive. You can play those chords and scales, modify and save them. The "Metronome" button puts a metronome on your desktop. You can set its tempo and signature, and it will use your sound card to play its characteristic sound. The "Music Player" will let you play any MP3, WAV or WMA file. The "Tuner" will let you tune your instrument by using the tuning forks or the chromatic tuner. Here, you can change your instrument settings to tune any of the four provided instruments. By pressing the "I" button, you will see some information about the program. If you pressing the last button, you will quit the program and return to your desktop.
